It started with a simple question
What if dog owners could just look after each other’s dogs?
No fees. No strangers. Just neighbours, people who actually know each other, who trust each other, who understand that handing over your dog is handing over a member of the family.
That was the original idea behind Bestiies: a free care exchange between dog owners. You look after my dog when I travel. I look after yours when you need me. Simple, human, reciprocal.
From idea to «Tinder for dogs»
We built a first version of the platform, a matching system for dog owners to find each other in their neighbourhood. The concept resonated immediately. Because the problem was real: dog owners in cities, especially those who’ve just arrived, are often isolated. They have no network. No one to call in a pinch. And the existing solutions like kennels and professional sitters are expensive. In Barcelona, a day of petsitting costs an average of 25 euros.
Dogs don’t need a service. They need friends.
What we’re building now
Today, Bestiies is evolving into a full app designed to make canine social life happen at neighbourhood scale, helping dogs meet, play, and build real bonds with other dogs nearby, while their owners do the same.
Because we believe something the data is starting to confirm: a socialised dog is a happier dog. And a dog owner with a local support network is a happier human.
Our mission
Bestiies exists to build a more pet-friendly society — one neighbourhood at a time.
That means making dog owners’ lives easier. It means making dogs happier. And it means leading the animal social revolution we believe cities like Barcelona are ready for.
This blog is part of that mission. A community resource. Honest, practical, and written for dog lovers who want to be part of this pawventure.
Life is better in a pack. Let’s build the pack.
